Neptunia mk-II final thoughts... kind of XD

Welp, like I said in an earlier post, this game will probably end up being the funnest game I play all year, or second funnest depending on how Agarest 2 goes. This game kicks ass with all the basics covered. Comedy of all sorts, damn fine battle music (more on this later), a decent but not absurd amount of characters to chose from for battles, and obvious hints at a third game already mentioned in a previous post. I am a bit curious as to how post game is supposed to work since you can't access it as per the normal avenues, however it does appear that it's kind of interwoven into NG+. I guess they figure that keeping your levels from previous playthroughs was too much to not do it this way. It's interesting and I like it since getting all of the Lily ranks up to 5 on the first playthrough is a ball buster and I wasn't about to do all that grinding. Those carry over too thank god. It will be interesting to go through this a second time, but that won't happen until after I at least start & finish Atelier Totori. I will need to focus on the events part of a walkthrough for that this time to help with the Lily Ranks.

Basically the game's plot revolves around a parody of the whole piracy/anti-piracy thing that's been running amok for the past 6-9 months. Where you fight on the side of stopping the piracy to preserve Gamindustri. Which yes, it does mean "game industry". The whole thing is pretty funny and provides a welcome break from that whole debacle. Sucks that once again you have to wait eons to get the CPU's in this game but since when do things like that ever change. Either way I got to recruit the CPU's this time! Yeah, I did my homework and read up on how to recruit them ahead of time this time. I ended up using Neptune and my favorite of the CPU's, Vert (pictured above), this time and of course I used her in my formation. How could I not? Kind of sucks that I had to change out that red ribbon around her neck to give her a tiara, but whatever I guess. I didn't really even notice that until I just looked at the pic above a little while ago.

The only down side was a creepy as hell major perv boss. And I mean major perv. Like disgusting.

Anyway, I suppose this isn't necessarily final thoughts since I do plan on going for the true ending and maybe some of the DLC dungeons, but god knows when that'll happen as time has shown true of other endeavours like that in the past. I already got the normal and Planeptune endings since you can get multiple endings at once if you get the normal one. Some things never change, eh Neptune? XD Getting the others requires the higher Lily Ranks, so obviously that will be a task for the NG+ playthrough. And so that will be all until the quest for the true end begins.
